Santec SLM Research Award 2026 Global Call for Applications Begins
1. Program Objectives
This award aims to encourage original and promising research plans using Spatial Light Modulator (SLMs) and contribute to the advancement of academic research.
The selection results for FY2025 are available here.
2. Eligibility and Target Applicants
- Applicants must be researchers affiliated with a university or public research institution.
- This equipment will be donated to the affiliated institution (university, etc.).
- Before applying, please confirm with your institution's administrative office (compliance officer, etc.) that acceptance of this program and receipt of the equipment comply with local laws and regulations and your institution's internal regulations (such as university rules), and obtain approval from your institution after completing the necessary procedures. After selection, you will be required to properly register and manage the equipment as an asset (equipment) of your institution.
3. Selection Process
This award is selected based on the following objective process.
- Regional Recommendations: Santec Group is based in Japan and has a global network including North America, Europe, and Asia. Regional leaders select candidates based on the originality of their research proposals and their potential future impact.
- Final Selection: The final winner will be determined at Santec AOC. We will prioritize research that maximizes the potential of Spatial Light Modulator and has the potential to have a wide-ranging impact on academia and industry in the future.
4. Key Selection Criteria
In the selection process, we will highly value research plans that specifically describe the following points.
- Specific research objectives
- Applications and necessity of Spatial Light Modulator
- Expected academic and industrial outcomes

| Notification of selection results | Those whose applications are selected will be notified by email by the end of December 2026. (Spatial Light Modulator will be shipped within 6-8 weeks after the selection of your desired model and completion of the donation procedures with your affiliated institution.) |
