Optical Power Monitor
Santec's optical power monitor is a highly reliable device for optical communications that achieves highly accurate optical power measurement and real-time monitoring of signal quality in optical communication networks. It is mainly built into optical transceivers for data communications and is an ultra-compact component that complies with standards such as SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) and CFP2 (C Form-factor Pluggable 2).
It is also used in long-distance, high-density optical communications, such as submarine cable systems and WDM networks. As communication infrastructure evolves, constant and highly accurate optical power monitoring is required for stable operation of optical networks. Santec's optical power monitor detects and analyzes optical power without affecting network signals, contributing to visualization of communications quality and early detection of faults.
Tap Integrated optical power monitor Series
Optical power monitors with a tap function, splitting off a minute amount of light from the fiber and detecting it with a photodetector.
This enables real-time measurement of optical power without affecting the optical signal while maintaining the signal path.

The PDA series are optical power monitors that use a photodetector to directly detect the light coming from the fiber.
The unidirectional fiber structure and compact package design make it ideal for high-density mounting in sub-modules such as optical transceivers and line cards.
