Overview
The MTF-VOA is an integrated optical component that combines a variable optical attenuator (VOA) and a tunable optical filter (MTF), based on our proprietary electrostatic MEMS technology.
It enables independent adjustment of the central transmission wavelength (tuning range: approx. 40 nm) and control of the optical attenuation up to 35 dB independently, achieving two functions in a single unit.
With an ultra-compact package (7.5 × 5.5 × 3.5 mm) and low 12 V operation voltage, the new device is ideal for use in next-generational small form factor (SFF) optical transceivers such as QSFP-DD and CFP2-DCO, which require smaller size and lower power consumption.
-

Compact size
It offers many advantages, including high-density mounting, low power consumption, and improved design freedom.
-

Ultra-narrow with a 3 dB bandwidth of 50 GHz
The ultra-narrow 50 GHz (3 dB) passband suppresses interference from adjacent channels, enabling more precise wavelength selection and signal separation.
-

Telcordia GR-468 compliant
It can be safely installed for a long time in communication infrastructure that requires high reliability and durability.
-

RoHS-compliant
It is environmentally friendly, RoHS-compliant, limits the use of harmful substances, and supports sustainable product creation.
